Dick Fosbury won the 1968 Olympics high jump competition, not because he was the best.

But because he accepted what he wasn’t good at, used his (seemingly unrelated engineering) strengths, dared to think outside of the box, and was willing to be seen as “weird and crazy”.

And then he changed the world of high jumping forever.
